Measure everything flat on the ground, not on the body.
TIP Measure a similar garment to the one you are looking at purchasing. For example, if you want a trench coat, make sure to measure a similar fitting coat that you have.

TIP Measure just inside the waistband for a comfortable fit.

Although this is not the typical way to measure belts, we measure the same way we measure the waist of pants to keep it simple.
We put it on the smallest hole and measure the waist and repeat on the largest whole to get the waist range.
TIP Measure the inside of the belt diameter, not the outside of the leather.
TIP Don't pull it too tight for a more comfortable and roomy fit.

Vintage shoes can be very inconsistent compared with modern sizing. Please measure a similar style shoe on both the sole and the interior footbed to ensure a good fit.
